Hi,

The FFR Front Lower Control Arms were designed in a similar fashion as the Factory Ford Lower Control Arms with respect to the ball joint design/replacement procedures. Ford states that it is recommended to replace the entire control arm assembly, as attempting to replace the ball joints can result in a issue like what you are describing here. Our front lower control arms were designed with the same design/replacement procedures as the Ford front lower arms, where it is recommended to replace the control arm. However, If you wish to attempt and replace the ball joints, the ones that come in a FFR front lower control arm are already over sized, which is why your MOOG unit does not fit, so the same type/size of ball joint would need to go in its place. We use a Mevotech MK8259 ball joint that you can source locally or from Factory Five.

Thank You
Dan @ FFR
