I got my inner door panels the other day. They mount on the outside of the door. My doors are so close to my opening now I can not mount the inner panel. I ended up modifing the panel to fit inside the door instead. Did anyone else run into this? Also I made access panels so you can adjust the door with the panels installed. I'll post photos in my build thread in the next week or so. JM2CW.

I thought I heard that they mount on the inside with the exception of top? Did you get the aluminum door pulls? I didn't Wondering if I should call or if they are no longer supplying them.

Well I did not get any instructions for install. They did not seem to be made as you said. I did get the door pulls. Your guess is as good as mine how they go on. I am mounting mine inside and not on the top. They hit my windshield if I did. I think FFR should give instructions for first time builders IMO.

Hey wallace, were your aluminum pulls really rough on one side? Mine required serious clean up. Transmission plate too. While I was cleaning up the door pulls I went ahead and put a nice beveled edge on those holes. :)

Place door liner on door with bottom/side flange inside outer shell..the top part goes outside

A lot of my thicker aluminum pieces had heavy burrs on the bottom edge. Its from running the laser too fast my friend said. Deburring is simple but takes time so its best left to the builder.

^That sounds like what I had. Clean up was simple, but definitely necessary.

That is how I started to mount mine. I just did not like the way it fit on the top. I cut the top off and am using some aluminum angle to attach the top. Just my personal preferance.

Yes. I had to deburr. Just part of the fun. LOL.

How do you hide the hardware at the top?

Mike it depends on what you do with the top part....If you leave the fiberglass top lip, you can push the panel "down" as far as it will go and put a screw towards the top of the door on the vertical above the door latch....then on the top front after you have the side view mirror in...you can add a piece of aluminum or steel that over laps the top of the door panel which will "pinch" the top of the door panel tight against the door.

If you go with the aluminum angle at the top..you don't need any hardware to pinch it since it's a true 90* bend. I just did the sides ad the bottom and front....done.
