We are so blessed as a community to have so many folks who are just as interested in giving back as they are in learning new things and building their dream car. It is my pleasure to note one who is embodying the spirit of this site and contributing in many ways that go beyond simply posting to the site and being part of the community.

Mechie3 is hereby awarded our first ever "Community Excellence" award!

Mechie3 has been here from for a little over 1-1/2 years, joining May 30th 2012. In that short time he has amassed over 2,200 posts (averaging almost 4 posts a day), which puts him at number 3 overall. He is constantly engaging and helping to document specific portions of the build with threads like this one, which documents - in extreme detail - the dieting for a 2006 WRX wiring harness:

http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?11880-Wiring-Guide-06-WRX-Sedan-with-Auto-AC-HVAC

In addition, he has serious machining skills, and is now a supporting vendor, turning out new, custom parts for the 818.

Mechie3 we are thankful you are part of the site and would like to give you a token of our appreciation with a $100 FFR catalog gift certificate, as well as our thanks for helping to make our forum community better with your efforts.

Folks, join me in saying THANK YOU to Mechie3 for all that he does for our community!

:)

Congrats, Craig. It's well-deserved. This morning I printed out all the pages of your harness dieting thread so I'll have it at hand when I start the wiring soon.

And, thanks to FFR for acknowledging the contributions of Mechie3.

Thanks everyone! The wiring guide wasn't planned from the outset honestly. The wiring was the one thing that intimidated me the most so I decided to be methodical about it. I realized that most people wouldn't have owned their donor for 6 years before taking it apart so the connectors would be even less familiar to them. Since I already had it somewhat organized I decided cleaning it up and posting it only made sense. I've gotten plenty of tips and help from others on here too, it goes both ways.

Great choice for the first winner
I would also suggest to Dave that this kind of owner would be a great addition to the SEMA booth in 2014

Congrats, Craig! My harness is in a cardboard box in storage, but when I do get to it (hopefully soon) I'll be really appreciative of your effort.

P.S. Happy New Year!

It's his effort that's helped me decide to pay Wayne to make my harness, so thanks Mechie. And happy new year!

This is well deserved. It certainly isn't easy to make a real contribution while holding down a good full-time job, marriage, house, other interests, etc. My hat's off to Craig and others who contribute despite having a lot of other important things going on in life.
