Has anyone dealt with Intercity Transport ?? My Roadster kit was ready 12/14 and I originally contracted with Stewart, but as of 12/20 their truck was out of commission. Tried calling last week but with Christmas in the middle of the week I couldn't get in contact with them. I'll try again tomorow, but I'm starting to consider other options. and I'm starting to crawl outta my skin... I think I'm going thru Roadster Withdrawal and I haven't owned one yet.

Last time I heard, Intercity really wasn't set up to deliver a car in kit form. Their trucks are not equipped with the hoist system like Stewart. For a vehicle on 4 wheels, no problem. Have patience, if you start getting upset now with delivery of your kit just wait until you see the back order list from Factory Five. You will be crawling out of your skin. Hang in there, it's not a race to see how quickly you can get the car assembled, you are supposed to be enjoying this.

Listen to this guy..He talks good common sense.
Take this time and clean the garage, go through your "needed" tools list..Make sure your garage heater is up to snuff. Take the wife or GF out for dinner and a night on the town so she'll be more understanding when you do disappear
into the garage.. Get my drift? Lots to do but don't let a few days or weeks eat at you.
Happy Good year and best of luck on your project.

I feel your anxiety. Mine toured the country in Stewart's truck for three weeks because "it was loaded wrong" and they had to take it to their Arizona dock to reload it. They missed their estimated delivery date three times.

Thanks for the moral support...I guess I shoulda asked Santa for patience along with my MKIV kit. And I gotta believe with Stewart Transport Truck still outta commission, I'm not the only one waiting for a kit. At this point, Stewart was supposed to be going to FFR with a regular rig to start working on the backlog of kits that are waiting to be delivered. I have to thank the guys at Factory Five for helping me go to plan B which turns out to be a great plan B and a GREAT start to the New Year. When they are busy with orders and year end inventory and a guy by the name of Dave Smith picks up the phone and asks how he can help, gives you an idea of the committment this company makes to its products and its customers. Cant say enough. Happy New Year to fellow Forum Members and builders, and to all the folks at Factory Five.

When I first saw David Smith's comment of " Remember, a human soul rides in every car we make" I decided that this was the guy I wanted to buy from. Now I haven't yet as life has interferred but the decision was made long ago.
Going there and taking the tour only reinforced my decision.
Yea, crap happens and trucks break down and also keep in mind the weather of the past few weeks across the country.
I would not have wanted to be a long distance trucker during the past month.
All I can say to you is the day it arrives you will have the look on your face that us guys usually only get twice in our lives: When we are 5-6 on Christmas morning and the day our firstborn comes into this world! ;)

I'm in the transportation business. Many companies could move the kit but none have the experience and trailer to handle the kit like Stewart. It's the holidays and everyone is off for some holiday time. As suggested, work on getting ready to receive the shipment and acquire or clean the parts you have. Organize a place to handle all the boxes (10?) and plan your assembly. Good luck.

Stewart may miss a delivery date, but they are really good, and they are set up to handle the kits very efficiently. It's worth the wait, and they will save you a $650.00 crating charge. Smooze your lady and build up a few attaboys. You'll need them.
