I'm looking at the Type '65 Coupe and wondering if I will be able to get in and still be comfortable. I'm 6'5" and 320 lbs. I don't fit in a friends Pantera, I don't fit in his GT40 clone. What's a big car nut supposed to do?? Will I fit this beast if I build one?

Where there's a will, there's a way. There are guys your height here with Coupes. A removable steering wheel can help with ingress/egress.

vanguard,

Where are you located? You really need to try one on for size. If you are in the Atlanta area, you would be welcome to try my coupe. I've got Kirkey vintage lowback seats mounted flat on the floor, as far back as possible. Once I am in the coupe, I have plenty of legroom (6'1", 33" inseam, 205 lbs.). I can wear a helmet but it does brush against the headliner lightly. I do use a removable steering wheel to ease entry/exit. How flexible are you? The entry/exit would probably be your biggest challenge in the coupe. I'm 64 years young and I'm able to fold myself in without the ugly, head-first entry procedure.

You can fit but the car will have to be set up specifically for you. I am 6'3" with very wide shoulders and I do fit. Seat selection and pedal set up is critical. With your size you may end up with an upholstered pad that will take the place of a seat. Basically a tailored pillow for the lack of a better description. There is a technique to getting in and out, it isn't pretty but it works. Give me a call and I can explain some of this in detail.

I'm in Denver. I already own a quasi clone of Pete Revson's '69 Boss 302. But of course I have a 398 cid stroker Windsor instead of a 302. IT's a tight fit getting ion and out, even though I've moved the seat back an inch. I still have to use a smaller diameter steering. The stock wheel rests on my thighs. What makes it worse is no power steering. It is a BUGGER to turn if I'm not moving.
