I ordered part number 15580, the 11.65" rear brake kit, to install in my MkIV Roadster. I bought the Moser Engineering 3-link axle, which is supposed to be the Fox-Body width, with 31-spline 5-lug axles, and that brake kit is supposedly set up for that offset.

My brake kit did not seem to come with any instructions, though. I was trying to figure it out, but I'd rather know for sure that I am bolting everything up properly. It seems like there are two big brackets that mount to the axle tubes, and two smaller brackets that bolt to the larger ones. Then the brake caliper brackets would bolt to the smaller brackets. This obviously seems like it would shift the calipers inboard and outboard depending on which side I bolt the brackets up to each other. In the kit I had enough bolts for all of the brackets (except the kit did not seem to come with the bolts to attach the caliper brackets), it came with 8 washers, and enough nuts for all the bolts and two extras.

I have no idea where I'm supposed to use the washers, because there aren't enough for all the bolts. I have no idea which way I'm supposed to mount all of the brackets to make them line up properly with the calipers (I really don't want to just do trial and error). I don't know whether the calipers are supposed to be mounted on the front or the back. I don't know how the E-brake cables are supposed to be routed. I do know the E-brake cables go underneath the 5" frame tube and into the cable bracket, but I don't know how to route the rest of the cable to get it to line up properly with the brake calipers. Any information I could get would be helpful.

In fact, if someone has a copy of the installation instructions (which SHOULD have come with the kit, I can't imagine why it wouldn't come with any), that would be best.

Hoping someone can help me out, thanks.

Hi pyronuc - Email me at jason@factoryfive.com and I can send the document to you (can't attach a PDF here). Also, it should be posted under the 15580 listing in the Parts Catalog soon.

thanks!
