Could a newer model mustang be used for the type 65? Say a 2004 or even newer.
if so, what would have to be done different?

Hi,
A 2005-2011 Mustang can not be used with the 65 Coupe or MK4, because most of the main components are different from the 87-93 and 94-04 Mustangs. You can use just about everything from a 96-04 Mustang, except the engine, as the 4.6 does not fit into the 65 Coupe without custom fabrication.
