The 818 assembly manual requires removal of the oil fill tube when installing the drivetrain. In the photos, I can clearly see that the exhaust manifold has also been removed. Is it necessary, or optional, to remove the exhaust prior to installing the engine and trans. in the chassis? What, if anything, interferes and with what? Up pipe, turbo? My donor engine is already missing the center pipe insulated cover. Would I be able to install as is? Also, is it maybe easier to install the trans. separately? I am still trying to pro-actively do as much as possible before I receive my kit.

I left the uppipe on but removed the rest of the exhaust manifold. ( headers in my case.) Much easier to install engine IMO.

and remove the coolant reservoir. To re-install it, get a bracket from Zero Decibel.

It is much easyer to install it with no exh,and leave the down pipe on. Tony@ffr
