can anyone tell me if a 2005 SAAB 9-2X AERO makes quality donor material for the 818?

Guy selling car says it is exact to WRX.

This car is in great shape, and I could drive it around while waiting on an 818 kit.

I heard a year out on order fulfillment?

I am 99% sure it would work as a donor. Wirng may be only issue.

The Saab 9-2x. Back when GM owned stock in both Subaru and Saab, GM locked them both in a room and said

NOW KITH!

And 9 months later after Saab returned from a "retreat" it had a new model! The 9-2x. Which as it turns out is really just a Subaru WRX with a Saab makeover. Think of it as a WRX with a bad body kit. Everything mechanical is Subaru. Some of the body panels and interior pieces are Saab.

It'd make a great donor.

I'm keeping a [publically] available spreadsheet detailing donor compatibility so if you wind up getting it, I would be very interested to know if you find anything that doesn't work. I don't think you will, but there is nothing like someone who did it to prove the point. :)

Hey Xusia
I'm using an 04 Forester XT. The only thing I noticed so far, is the lower control arm rear bushings.

I saw your spreadsheet after asking question about SAAB. Yes if I buy it you will have pics and comments to fill in your spreadsheet.

I just wish I knew what tops will be available for the 818.

It is zero out, and a convertible with heated seats won't cut it, and I bet this car would be a blast on snow in a parking lot..

The 9-3 and 9-5 have nothing to do with Subaru, right?

I believe you are correct with your statement.

There is currently only 1 top in development that we are aware of: A soft top with zip-in windows. A hard top is believed to be planned for later, but that remains to be seen (as does a coupe version).

Thanks Bob. I added that note.

Great donor. Plus you'll have a bunch of rare parts to sell off. They didn't make many of those.

I have a Saabaru trans in my WRX, just had to switch from male to female axles.

The forester bushing might work nice on the 818R without spacers
