The nose looks just like the turd! Great Job! Is that the car you were replicating? I don't remember the rear looking like that...

Hank, you did a great job. We'd love to see more if you have any pics. Are you going to paint it the same as the turd?

:)

An excellent rendition of one of the craziest looking Cobras of all time. You will not lose your car in the biggest parking lot full of Cobras. Excellent!!

Day-umm! And here I thought I did a bunch of bodywork - this is awesome. I can't help recalling an interview I watched of CS from a Dave Despain / Speedchannel special many years ago where CS said - "Miles put a big 'ol 427 (although I thought it had a 390) in it... and it was 'suh ugly we called it the Turd."

Rock on, man... I can't wait to see it done!

Hank, your car looks crazy-cool! One thing I noticed on on of the original pictures is that there was no oil cooler opening, but i see you kept yours?

Amazing workmanship! Never heard of this car before.

Mike, the original had an extremely modified leaf spring chassis and custom body, hence it sits very low. The FF chassis and body is much higher so without the scoop the nose would look way to high, it is an illusion of lowness. The coil spring car never happened, mine is a "what if" car, that way I can justify any mods which might have been done in that era! Thank you for comments.

Now I have to get back down there! I’ve had the opportunity to see the progress Hanks made since I meet him through the old ffcobra forum, and the car was a rolling chassis. At that time he showed me pictures of what he planned to do. I thought to myself, no way. Over the years I've seen the modifications in various stages of completion. His talents never cease to amaze me. Wish he was closer to WI so I could enlist his help on mine.

Chris, the Turd was powered by a 390 engine,I think(but not sure) it was a sleeved 427.
Al,come on down, the Coors is ice cold and the weather is great! Chicken wings are good too!

If you want to impress your friends drive up in a race car but even better is to flip the front end and then they flip out! Like the color but can't figure out what it is exactly. It must have some pearl in it but also looks a little green. Looks good anyway. WEK.

Hank, really looks good. What you've done in your garage by yourself still amazes me. Looks like your spray booth worked out. I'm glad I've had the opportunity to have seen your progress and share a brew or two over the years. I will figure out a reason to get back down. Al

X3 on the flip top up. I am considering a flip top. I was wondering how you created the "lip" for the front to ride on. Also, front hinges or mechanism if you have pics of it.

Thanks,

VERY cool car Hank! Love the flip front-end.
What MKx did you start with? (I'm assuming it was an FFR, but almost nothing remained stock, so very hard to tell)
You do amazing body work!

More PICs and details please. What's powering yours? (wasn't the "Turd" the first 427??)

How about a shot with the trunk and hood open?

Great job!

Thanks to all of you for the nice comments and Tuna thank your wife for the only thing I can grow!
MP started with a MK 11. The Turd was powered by a sleeved 427 and wound up a 390! Mine is a Ford Racing 302,T5 box and a Fox rear with a 327 gear set,all brand new.
WEK the pics you asked for321933219432195

So you fiberglassed metal tabs to the cockpit side of the body and installed infinitely adjustable stops. That was very sneaky and clever! I like the simplicity of the hood hinges too. You don't mind if one borrows your technology, right? They say you can't polish a "turd" but you seem to be doing a pretty good job at it.

Thanks for the pics,

WEK.
