I'm very excited to announce that my father and I placed our order for a MK4 Roadster on Friday. I can't even express how EXCITED I am about this and can't wait for it to get here. I've started a blog for the build and will be posting MANY questions most likely here and FFCars. I hope that some people will watch my blog as I build and comment on things we do wrong or something amazing (probably not on purpose). You can get to it at mk4build.blogspot.com. Thanks everyone for your help so far with all the planning and cost analysis we have completed.

Hi Wes,
Good idea to start with a roadster. No bias here! You and your father will love the build. I kinda wish I had help along the way but didn't have any relatives with the common interest like you. Welcome to the forum. You will get great support from this and the other forum too. Good luck, WEK.

Wes,
Welcome to you and your father. Enjoy the journey of building your FFR - these are great projects and can be something different for each builder as we put our unique stamps on our car. Make sure to check out the many varied builds taking place here and at ffcars.com to help you get the vision of what your car will be when done.
Congratulations!

Wes and Drew,
Congratulations and Good Luck! My son and I went to build school together and a year later I ordered the kit. He has helped as much as he can (lives a couple hours away) and we have had a great time. Even when he could not be here I spent a lot of time talking about it with him and and getting his input on different things. It will be a great experience. You are smart making use of the forum(s) - always a bunch of great people willing to provide help and encouragement. Happy Building!!

Welcome aboard,
My father and I built a roadster together. I have to say it probably one of the best things we done together. Enjoy it, because it is nice to have a friendship with your parents past parenthood.
Congrats and post pics.

Congrats Wes, they are fun to build and even more fun to drive!
My dad wasn't available during most of my build (they live in Florida most of the year), but he did help out a couple times.
Our build times together were very special and I really enjoyed them, we also drove to LCS earlier this year.
