I had not thought much about tires and how they really do dry out but have really noticed a growing problem the last few weeks on my weekly Sunday AM run. Usually around 10-15 of us gearheads meet outside Starbucks on Pacific Coast Highway most Sundays around 6:30 and hang out before cruising to Woody's a few miles up the road for a hot breakfast and burn some fuel. I have been really fighting the back end spins. My own fault for ignoring the inevitable. Being the second owner of my second Cobra...yep...I wasn't really sure if the rears were 10" or 10.5" so I called FFR and they researched the old paperwork from 2006 and confirmed they are 17" x 10.5" Bullitt Style Anthricite with 7" BS (27mm offset) I think I can go up from my current 285/40/17 to a 315/35/17 with no problem...DOES ANYONE ELSE RUN THIS SIZE TIRE ON THIS SIZE RIM on a MKIII ?? OK thanks much for any input.
