Today I received my approval letter from Transport Canada, the final piece in the puzzle to get my 818S. My production date is December 7th, so I'm crossing my fingers that I get my crate before Christmas when I have a week off. I only sent off my request last week and expected my 818 would be sitting at FFR for weeks waiting for it. My family and friends don't seem to understand how happy this letter has made me, so I decided I'd share with my new online family. :D Now I better get in the garage and finish my tear down to make room. Build thread soon!

Thanks everyone, I knew you'd understand  There's one somewhere on the east coast, but I think I'm #2. Good night with the donor, engine and rear end are out. Hope to get it out in a week or two.

Niice ;)
Very exciting indeed. Happiness comes in many shapes and sizes, this happiness just happens to have a 95" wheel base.

Me too! I pestered the fellows at Transport Canada Monday morning, and I had my letter 5 minutes later! Great to hear everything is on track for you. My production date is Jan 18, so I have a bit of 'hurry up and wait' to look forward to. I hope everything else goes as smoothly.
Are you buried up to your butt in snow today? Calgary is a huge mess!
Cheers,
Dave

We didn't get as much as you, but the roads are a mess. Thanks for "pestering" them, it probably helped mine get done so quickly. Just waiting to hear back from AL about what's next, shipping arrangements, etc.

I just might slap a bow on it for a picture.
I've seen lots of pics of peoples kits at the loading dock ready to get shipped. Who do you ask for such a pic?

Apparently, they were getting so many requests for pre-shipping photos that they had to initiate a policy to discontinue the practice. At least, that is what they told me when I called and requested one.........:(

Sounds like FFR has an opportunity to make a bit of money by creating a photo log of each kit as it is packaged and shipped out. Marathons, road races, and Triathlons have been doing this for years. The consumers love it, and are willing to pay for it to add to the memories.
What do you say, FFR?
