After all, how hard can it be?

Don't sweat it Chris, it really is pretty easy. Just break it into sections and you'll be golden.

Chris….be sure to include wiring for items you MIGHT want to add later one. I have had my MKI on the road for 13 years. I have just added a cruise control which required going behind the dash with a loom of about 12 wires from the cruise control unit (mounted on top of the pax footboy) to the dash mounted control switch that sits below the ignition key. The control pad is actually mounted on a horizontal alum. panel that is under the dash. This is not the only additional wires I have added. A "courtesy light" in each of the foot boxes, electric choke, etc. It's certainly a lot easier to plan for expansion rather than retro it. Also, a tip for wiring. Don't look at the whole wiring project. Break it up to small jobs, as Frank suggest, and complete one before moving to the next. Today's harnesses have all the names identified so it's pretty easy. Good luck.

Piece of cake. The wiring harness looks intimidating coming out of the box. I found this approach helped me. First, I sorted the wires by area (engine, dash, rear, ect) and laid out each area in the rough position that they need to be. I zip-tied each group together to make it easy to manipulate. Then I took the wiring diagram and worked on it one circuit at a time till it was done. Eventually all the various circuits were done, connected, and tested. Then I wrapped everything, covered with some wire loom, and connected each section to the frame with insulated clips. Eat the elephant one bite at a time.

The best part about wiring is........ finishing!
I had help, (Thanks again Rich!) but as Rich told me, most of it was pretty straight forward. Just follow the book / wiring diagram.
It got a little tricky when we wired the Probe turn signal. It worked fine the very first time, when Rich was there to observe it.
Then I finished up the tail-lights / brake-lights and it didn't work. I knew it was something I did, but spent hours / days trying to figure it out.
I asked Rich to come back one more time to fix my mistake and after about an hour, he determined that the probe relay had fried after we installed it! Grrrrrrrr
Replaced it and my wiring has worked great!
It's so cool when all of the running lights, dash lights, gauges, and ENGINE work the first time!
Yep, break it down and eat the elephant one bite at a time.
Good Luck
