So a good friend, my wife, and I took a drive to Wareham today and visited Factory Five. I thought the place would be pretty dead considering the holiday week, so we were pleased to see about ten others wandering around. A young man came from the office and said that "Dave" would be around in a few minutes to give a tour. Imagine my surprise when I see Dave Smith come out and give a personal tour. He was so enthusiastic and proud of his company, and it showed. He took his time and answered everyone's questions, while giving us all a corner to corner tour.
Cant wait for 12/21 to pick up my kit! Thanks, Dave!

It is worth the trip if you are able, it is not a huge place but it is well run and the people are always courteous. Dave definitely enjoys his kingdom. What kit are you getting?

I agree that the factory tour is a great time, and Dave is extraordinarily generous with his time! How awesome is it for the boss to take time out to show folks around?
Great stuff!
So, what are your big plans? You need to spill! I have to be frank; part of why I like folks sharing ideas is that I can find some good ones that I can use on my build!
Looking forward to hearing what you are going to do! Best of luck!

Steve,
I'm not one for tried and true, I like putting my own flare on things. The paint will be no different in regards to the colors I'm choosing. I'm going to go the Coyote engine route, but may do some head/cam work before hand. I told Dave I was planning on putting some boost on it, and he recommended against it. What better mouth to hear it from? The Halibrands may take a trip to the chromer, I'm not quite sure on that yet, though. All in all, I'm pretty excited and am looking forward to the build school in two weeks.

Thanks. I just bought a space heater for the garage and time lapse camera to capture the build. Imagine my surprise when I pull in the driveway yesterday only to find that my rims had arrived and were sitting by the garage door!
