Anyone know if drive by wire could be added to a wrx drivetrain that did not come with it? Would like to retrofit it to my 02 drivetrain.
Thanks mike

I don't know if your ECU would support it. Some ecu's are 16 bit, some are 32 bit. Believe all of the factory DBW cars were 32 bit. I really don't know much about that, but it might give you at least a starting point for searching.

I hate the dbw on my OBXT, why on earth would you ever want it?

That said changing to a newer engine harness and ecu would probably do the trick.

In stock form its sluggish. Edit the tables for a quicker response and its great.

I like the DBW throttle on my Infiniti. I HATE my wife's RAV4 DBW. It's not a throttle, it's a trigger. Really hard to ease into the throttle.

You can always add a Sprintbooster or reprogram. The Sprintbooster just plugs into the pedal plug. I did this on my Porsche Spyder. Night and day.
