1 Week ago I placed my order for the '33 kit with a lot of the options, this week I received a Coyote 5.0 crate motor, the latest Cobra Jet high rise intake, a starter and the Super Cobra Jet oval throttle body. My local Ford Racing Dealer gave me an excellent price, probably becasue they have sold me a lot of Ford pick-ups over the past number of years. I ordered an A4ODE 4R70W with all the electronics and flex plate for the Coyote, it arrived today badly damaged so I had to refuse the shipment, the bell housing area was fractured and the peices of casting laying in the box, with oil everywhere! My kit is supposed to ship Dec 28th so I'm going to spend time on the intake installation and rigging and getting my shop ready with a heater and more lighting.
I think I need to find out who can help and what has to be done with software to make the new parts talk with this engine. I live in North Texas in Granbury, anybody in the area building one?

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about the damaged shipment. I received my kit just over a month ago and having a blast building so far. The software thing is way out of my league but their is a lot of great guys on here with a ton of knowledge and willingness to help.

Good luck on your build!

I'm in Midland and go down IH20 to Mt. Vernon several times a year. Would enjoy visiting with you some time when I go through the area.

The replacement trans mission arrived today in perfect condition, I have the intake on the engine and sent the balance due for the kit, ouch! It should arrive in the first 10 days of January Yahoo! The shop is almost ready, acidized the floor for epoxy paint, AC is in and heat next week. My builder friend says the beam above me is strong enough for an electric hoist left to elevate the engine into the chassis. I'm thinking the chassis should roll enough back and forward to shoehorn the engine/trans combo into place.

The kit arrived on Sunday, there are a few back orders but it looks to be in great condition, Stuart Transport had a really slick method of dropping the chassis onto my trailer. So now the inventory count begins!

Can't wait to follow your build and see some photos along the way. You won't be disappointed.

Welcome to our little slice of madness. Read all the tips and tricks and every build page you can, order parts later rather than early, you WILL change your mind a 100 times. Ask tons of questions, even the stupid ones, everyone here loves helping. If I can help, please ask!

The first dumb question is 33288A Rivet Spacer Tool in the kit? I don't find it listed on my first perusal of the boxes and the packing list. It looks like I'm supposed to make this item?

Congratulations on your purchase & delivery of your Hot Rod Don, hope you have as much fun as I'm having with the build. looking forward to seeing your build pages.
On your question about the software for the Coyote; you need to purchase the Controls Pack from Ford, it includes the computer & wiring & installation instructions, the computer (PCM) is already loaded with the microcode compatible with the Coyote crate motor.

I picked up the Controls package yesterday the local Ford Racing dealer had it on the shelf and was told that I need to call Ford Racing Tech Dept. because I'm using an AODE trans. Today I'm soaking the ball joints in 140 Varsol to send off to the powder coater.

The rivet spacer should be a piece of aluminum with holes punched in it. I do not believe that it will be listed on the packing list, but should be in the same box as the rivets. Many builders have made their own using a piece of elastic, marking even spaces marks on it, then just stretching over the aluminum and marking with a Sharpie. Even spaced holes every time. Or you could get a tool from Aircraft Spruce.

Thanks, Doug I found it in with the sheet aluminum stock. Busy getting the front suspension ready for powder coating. Rear axle arrived and bought the aluminum Ford rear cover. I have talked with an 33 builder about 65 miles from me who got his kit the same day as me. He's done a beautiful Mark IV that has won awards at shows he attended, he's also built his own Vans RV-10 aircraft so I should have a good resource to go to.

I have read on the Mark IV forum about a special short oil filter used on the Cadillac CTS-V that is shorter and allows them to not mess with a remote filter, has anyone got experience with a Coyote 5.0 install on the 33 to say it will or will not work for our application on the 33HR ?

I found the filter that works for the 33 by WIX if anyone need the number let me know it saves a lot of hoses and reduces risk of engine failure. I need to know what options there are to fit the Coyote A/C compressor to the Vintage system. Vintage doesn't know of any fittings. I read somewhere in the forums that there was an expensive option but I can't seem to find the reference. Please help!
