I posted this in the FFR representative, but know that many people who are smart on this topic won't check that forum and would love to hear your opinions also.

I know this might be sacriledge, but I've got a question that I'm hoping won't get me booted from this forum I've been looking at buying a FFR MK4 for some time, but I've got a beautiful Chevy BB FI 502 and Viper 6-speed transmission that needs a good home. Crazy, I know, but I'm wondering if that would be a good fit into the FFR MK4. I really hate to get rid of such a great engine, but I would also really love to start on the FFR.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mike, I think you will find that just about any engine/trans combo can be made to fit in a FFR. While Chevys are not the norm they have been done. With that long trans you will have to go with IRS in the back but I think your combination would be really neat.

Frank,
Thanks for the quick response. I think I'll starting looking into this more because I really love the snake. BTW, you've got a beautiful car, I noticed it in the best pictures forum.

Hi Mike,
I make a Chevy mount kit to install your 502 RAT motor into a FFR Roadster. Purchase the headers bare and weld on BB Chevy flanges. I also sell hydraulic master & slave parts.

Frank,

I usually refer to my car as "the ugly one", thanks for the compliment.

Hi Mike,

I think that combination would work out well - but I believe that you'd also have to have the IRS rear suspension because that tranny is so darned long..
I thought FFR would have the mounts for the GM V8s by now..
