You will need to excuse me since I am new to the Subaru world, why is coolant passed through the throttle plate? I have only seen this before on equipment used in extreme cold and even then it was after the fuel was mixed with air to prevent an ice up condition. Since the 818 will most likely not be driven in the frigid weather can it be eliminated? It is just scavenging off the heater core so I imagine it can just be capped off at both ends. I cant understand why air would pass through a cooler then get heated by coolant unless the air from the intercooler is why hotter than the coolant thus being a secondary cooling system.
