I am ready to throw down the bucks for a rear end. Any suggestions? I am looking at at ford racing 3.73 complete assembly. I have seen some suppliers that offer rear ends with the FFR 3 link upper control arm bracked welded to the axl. Is that worth the extra cost?

Depends on the cost. Suppliers offer a bolt in fix that I used on my 33 for about $125.

I went with Mike Forte in Mass.
He built me a rear end using his own (used) 8.8 housing (79.25) that he cleaned, blasted and primed. New 31 spline axles, LS diff, 3.08 gears, all new bearings and assembled with wilwood 4 piston 12.19 slotted rotors for a price that's less than the FF rear delivered to your house. (I picked mine up). He even threw in the ford friction modifier.

It was not a 3-link. I did not want/need a 3-link.

Happy searching!

I was happy with Mike's rebuild parts for mine and I didn't want or need the 3 link either.

It gets old seeing all the trash talk on here about 4 links binding etc. because the arms from FF are less than ideal

A proper 4 link with adjustable arms that have heim joints won't bind and give plenty of control of pinion angle etc.
and I keep all my trunk space and no banana bracket to need welded or wad up under hard use. I hope to pull some
very nice 60ft times when it's all done. Not drinking the koolaid on the 3 link issue

Nice to hear. I have the same thoughts. I put in spherical bushings on the uppers. I've yet to mount the drive line so I haven't thought about adjustables yet.
It's one of the few "upgrades" I didn't go with.
