On the TV show they show what they call the "Red Room", where the gel coat is sprayed on AFTER the fibreglass panel is formed. I always thought the mold was sparyed with a release agent then the gel coat sprayed , then the fibreglass was laid up. Which way is correct ?
Thanks

The molds are sprayed with red gelcoat before the fiberglass is laid into them, the pieces that were shown being sprayed were in fact molds and not actual body panels. I am guessing that it was confusing because we have seperate areas for red (MkIV, Coupe, GTM) and black (33) panels and they didn't realize they were not two steps of the process but the same step for just different colors.

Thanks Jim, I thought so. I have seen many boat factories and in building a MK III it didnt appear that the Gel coat was sprayed after the lay up.
