Anyone out there running power steering on a 429 Ford motor with belt driven water pump. If so what kind of power steering pump and mounting bracket did you use? The Roadster drives great on open road but is a bear to turn when the car is still or moving slowly. Got to put power steering on it. Thanks

Here is an option for you so you don't need to redo your belt setup. Not cheap but very high quality.

Hi,
Are you using Serpentine or V belt??? I sell many p/s pumps for engines.

Mike, presently using CVF V belt setup for crank, water pump and alternator. I was looking at going to an AGR rack # 715593 and CVF sheaves (double groove on crank, single on alternator, water pump and PS pump. Haven't found a PS bracket that will fit on the motor and clear the steering shaft. Maybe go to a Saginaw pump # 807402 with remote reservoir. I guess if all else fails I can build my own bracket. Any ideas on your end?? Do you sell these items and if so what are your prices on them?

Hi Unicoiman,
Could you post pictures of what you have? I can then try to figure what's needed....

Mike, I have attached some pictures of my setup. OEM power steering bracket for this motor is way to big. I have a 1970 Torino 429 with power steering of which I have compared to the Roadster setup. The PS pump mounting bracket will have to be very small to fit between the water pump and the steering shaft. See what you think.234652346623467

Hi,
If you can get a front shot of the engine, that would help. I think if I get you a 2 groove crank pulley (perhaps H2O pump too) I think a p/s pump would be easy.

I am using Billet Aluminum Ford Power Steering Pulley.

Mike, sheaves are not an issue. CVF has the two groove crank pulley as well as the alt, water pump and PS sheaves. The issue is finding a 2.2 GPM 1000 PSI pump and bracket assy that will fit on the engine and miss the steering shaft. I am sending some pictures of the engine but it was impossible to get a good frontal shot of the setup since the engine is in the car. Best I can do.
