Hello,
I am completely parting out my 1981 Mercury Capri, but I am NOT selling the body or interior of the car. Here’s a small background of the build. The project was started in 2005 when the inline 6 and drivetrain was removed and finally completed in winter 2008. After all this hard work I really never drove the car that much. It was driven to local car shows and to Gateway Test and Tune a couple times. Other than that it mostly sat in the garage waiting for a nice weekend day. There is less than 500mi on the car from 2009-2012. In 2012 my wife and I moved to a townhome and the car has not been driven except to keep fresh gas flowing through the lines. Instead of letting it sit I am deciding to part it out while everything is still in great working order. It should give me another 5 year head start to begin saving up some money again

I have documented almost every detail on the car (3 folders worth of receipts and manuals) when I purchased a part. I have original instruction manuals and even a few original boxes from when parts were purchased new. I have prepped and spray painted probably every part I put on the car. A good majority of parts on the car have been purchased new. The motor and transmission were purchased from a 1994 GT with roughly 100K miles. The motor has been carbureted and the trans has been adapted to an 87-93 input spline and bellhousing. Zero leaks on the motor and tranny. The motor has been completely refreshed with gaskets, seals, timing chain, H2O pump, etc. The heads have never been removed and the bottom end is all stock. I can’t stress enough that most of these parts are brand new OEM from local parts stores or either high end upgrade performance parts. Details on all parts below:

I’d like to try to sell everything together on this first go around. I know it’s a long shot but I seriously have EVERYTHING you need to put together a fully running and driving car. Just grab that shell out of your garage and put it together. If I can’t sell the entire rolling drivetrain then I will try to sell parts in bundles. I will provide bundle prices once I gauge interest on the whole deal. If someone were to purchase the ENTIRE rolling chassis with all parts below I’d ask $4500/obo.

Items that will NOT be for sale include:
Capri body and interior and gas tank
Wheels and tires
Borla Side Exit mufflers

Here is a list of the “bundles” included in the full asking price: please see pics… http://s371.photobucket.com/user/johnsenn03/library/1981%20Capri

Whewww, that is the long and short of it. I don't think I missed anything big. All parts are painted and in terrific shape and can be directly bolted to your car. I tried to stay as high end as possible on many of these components. Before I start parting out the car, if anyone wants to see and drive it first please let me know.
