Many of you may know of VRaptor http://vraptorspeedworks.com/

They have designed a lot of custom parts for the GTM in order to improve little things.
It may less apply to the 818 due the design difference vs the GTM, but I have contacted VRaptor and asked them if they planned on offering such parts, you know like under body panels with NACA scoops, vents to better redirect the air flow from the side door vents and many other things the GTM apparently benefits from.

The guy said he has no 818 for test fittings and measurements, but that if enough people show interest on a particular piece and that he is provided with a template and someone using his own 818 to test fit and back and forth with VRaptor, that they would most probably offer the piece.

I am not saying something must be done or improved, I am just giving an option, saying if many people think about a particular piece that would benefit the 818 but no one can fabricate it, VRaptor would offer its services provided the pre-conditions I stated above.

This if just an FYI.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm sure some others will be developing stuff as well. Does need something besides stickers in the brake duct area, front and side..

??

Only two cars had stickers: Green Wilwood car and Waynes car. FFR provides a mesh insert and an aluminum trim piece for both the front brake openings and the side openings.

Shane ("The guy" LOL) makes some outstanding parts.

However, in the case of the 818, my thoughts flow inline with Mechie's.

Many of Shane's GTM pieces were designed to resolve an issue he encounted during a build.

First thought: removable hardtop.

second thought: cockpit aluminum that actually fits the R.

My thoughts went a totally different route:
Front Grill
Louvers for various vents instead of the mesh (I like the mesh just fine - the louvers are just a different look)
Adding Louvers to the rear diffuser for additional venting rather than having a cutout with mesh higher up
Dead pedal (or does the kit come with one?)

I could probably think of some other things...

A ferrari F430 esque front end.....yes please. Not that I could afford it. lol.

That is absolutely true. Though some parts aren't.
But for the 818, maybe it would benefit those louvers behind or in place of the side doors openings. Or some NACA scoops under the engine to create an airflow of fresh air and get the hot air exist through the bumper. Airflow dynamics, I have no idea on the 818 as I know no data at all. But I am just throwing out the idea, that's all. :)

No worries...His parts would, no doubt, benefit the 818. Not only would they be problem solvers, but they will look good doing it. I have many of them on my build and had the privilege of helping Shane with the Gen2 radiator hood louvers.

The mesh supplied with the GTM (which looks to be the same for the 818) doesn't flow well and the louvers allow an almost uninterrupted flow.

That was the main reason I thought about VRaptor at first. But then of course he does a lot more awesome parts.

On the 818, personally, front grill with louvers and side door scoops with louvers are the questions I am asking myself. Would it flow better than the mesh. But regardless of that, if these parts would exist, I would buy them, cuz of the looks and cuz I am pretty sure louvers would not be worse than mesh, airflow speaking.

With time and more builds on the road, maybe some of our ideas will catch enough people and we could ask Shane for a few things, we'll see.

If anyone is test fitting some beta or even alpha parts of anything, let us know!
Post the ideas here!! :)

Some really nice stuff on that vRapter site, giving me ideas. Thanks Frank.

Cool- I hope they make some stuff for the 818R

Their stuff looks great and it is reasonably priced. I really hope they get into the 818. I would think that there would be a higher demand with the 818, since I feel there will eventually be lots of them on the roads.

I love the removable hardtop idea...

Not that this guy makes this type of thing, but a abs front facia would be a good idea, along with hardtop, although I am planning on working on one soon.
