What's the FFR serial number?

There are a number of identifiers but a quick determination can be done by looking under the hood:

Square tubing "backbone" structure making up the transmission tunnel?
No= Mk1, Yes= Mk2, 3 or 4

Steering shaft exiting the drivers footbox through the front bulkhead below the master cylinder?
No= Mk1 or 2, Yes= Mk3 or 4

Square or round tubing making up the chassis front "X" member?
Square= Mk1, 2 or 3, Round= Mk4

Yeah, if you want to split hairs there were a handfull of "tweener" cars (such as between Mk1 & Mk2) that incorporated some of the generational changes but not all however for the most part this should pin it down for you.

That sounds about right - though there can be some tricky details (i.e. Mk1 steering shafts actually came through the face of the footbox instead of along the side). To be sure, send an email to tech@factoryfive.com with some engine bay photos that include the steering shaft, front X member, and other areas. We're happy to lend a hand.
