Premium Top guys - which Wind Wings & Mirrors?

Questions for guys with the Premium Top:
Looks like the top attaches to the sides of the windshield, so 2 questions:
1. Can Wind Wings be used?
2. Can only side mirrors attached to the body be used?

I don't believe the top will interfere with wind-wings. FFR's wind-wings use a clamp that secures them to the windshield post.

Breeze sells a really nice mirror that mounts to the windwing. It's not cheap, but it's really nice and worth the money.

I had a different mirror that was mounted to the frame. I got out of the car and bumped into the wind wing and broke the wing when it pressed against the mirror. The breeze mirror won't do that.

FFR wind wings- No.
Visors yes.
Mirrors that mount to the windsheild post can be used.

I think FFRs wind wings are held on with set screws. You can remove them when you are using the top.

MIke is correct, It shoudl aso be noted that without the side curtains wind wings can be used.

Guys, I make these mirrors. Mark is kind enough to offer them on his site for me. I am a vendor on this site. If you want to use my mirrors, I think you will love them. May I suggest that you get the original style windwing brackets from **********. Install them in reverse manner. Your top will work great with the side curtains. FFinisher - thanks for the picture. So it looks like the side curtain is actually inside the windshield post except for the bottom tab which comes out and goes onto a snap. Correct?

Correct. If you want more pics send me a PM with your E-mail, I can send all you want. the Top is super nice. At the moment I have two here, My MKIII shown in the pics and a MKIV. I am travelling Tommorow Night, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so i won't be able to send pics during that time.

Hi guys,

Had the same question, so I spoke to Chad at Rod Tops. You can use the FFR wings, just have to fold them all the way out, not in, and move them down so they don't hit the header. Here are a few shots.

The FFR parts site has videos of the top. IIRC, they have wind wings installed.

I recently installed my premium top with the windwings. Most of the window goes on the inside with the very bottom-front on the outside of the snap. The FFR video doesn’t show that. I also have the Raydot mirrors and the ********** mount. No interference.

I have the FFR wings and visors, both work fine. You may have to move the wings down just s bit to clear the header, and trim just a bit off the inside leg of the upper mount to let it fully seat on the sidebar. The visor mounts need to be attached with the tabs on the bottom.

I have an early top without the quarter windows. Adding Terry’s mirrors helped tremendously.
