I am very interested in the '33 Hot Rod,but was wondering if there was a DVD or something that tells what all comes in the kit and how advanced of a mechanic and welder you have to be in order to build one.I would hate to get something like that and not be able to finish it because I don't know how.I have access to a very nice and well equipped shop. This would be my first ground-up build and would definitly want to do it right the first time in most cases.Any info as to a price list,a set of build DVD's or anything else would be appreciated.I have not had the time to take the video tour yet but intend to do that tonight hopefully,so maybe I will not be as ignorant tomorrow.

You don't need a welder but some reasonably good mechanical knowledge would be helpful. I don't know if a step by step video and doing one would be really hard as every cars is built differently.
I would be happy to talk to you about it at length if you want to give me a call sometime.

Order the Manual on line for $10. It is 700+ pages and will answer all your questions. You don't need a welder unless you want to modify something. I only used mine for a few brackets that were for optional items. There was a thread a few days ago asking a siminlar question. If you stay with a basic car, it requires some skill but nothing special. Read the build threads from front to back, aftee you read a couple of them you will see what is possible and what might want to do. Lots of great guys in the group to anser your questions.

As said above read the build posts on the 33. You do need some good mechanical skills IMO. Body work was the hard thing for me.

I've gone way beyond the standard build in many cases. Welding has not come into play yet. Like everyone says you can build one with hand tools. Heck a compressor is not even needed, nice but not needed. factory 5 runs a build school. It's about 700 bucks and in a 3 day weekend you and your classmates build one from bare frame to driver. WELL WORTh the money if you have doubts. Oh yeah and there are NO power tools at the build school... All hand tools.

check it out here https://www.factoryfive.com/build-school/ or here http://www.mcc.edu/factoryfive/f5_schedule.shtml

Unless you plan some serious modifications a welder is not needed. The digital build manual should give you some insight into the build process.
