...that I can input the number of miles that I want to drive each day. Trying to plan a trip with 500 (+/-) mile stages. Using Google, MapQuest etc. I have to check the planned route and guess at the distances between cities.

Anyone have a source or program?

Thanks,

Ray

I use microsoft streets and trips. Been using that one for a lot of years. Not perfect, but works well.

Supposedly, you can integrate it with your GPS. IDK, since I don't own a GPS device.

Yeah, I don't own a gps either. What I hope to find is a planner that I can input a trip from San Diego to say Tampa and that I want to do 500 miles for the first day and it maps out a route. Then the next day I want to drive 750 miles, etc. and it goes to the nearest city/town etc. Maybe it doesn't exist.....

i don't think it has quite the level of functionality that you are asking about, but roadtrippers.com is a pretty cool website for finding points of interest/hotels/scenic roads/etc and once you have selected them, it works them into a printable itenerary with detailed directions, mileage, and estimated time between stops.

Streets & Trips doesn't go by miles, it goes by time. You tell it how fast you'll be traveling on different kinds of roads - like freeway vs. two lane black top. And then you input what time you want to start driving, and when you want to stop. It's actually pretty accurate.

Ray, your trip planner goes by the name Jodi.

Thanks. But I'm planning this trip as a solo journey.
