08 WRX engine and trans ok to use?

Anyone know if and 08 WRX STi engine and Man. trans would work as the powertrain? I'm piecing my donor parts together not purchasing a complete donor, so I would still need to get the suspension parts from something else. Have a line on the 08 so figured I'd look into the viability of this option.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Hi surfacesmith,

We really haven't worked much with the '08s and later, but I believe the first thing you'd run into is that the engine mounts won't bolt up to the earlier style used in the 818. YOu also have to be careful with the STI drivetrains because donor engine controls for an STI require the STI gearbox as well, and there may be more integration there that could interfere with an STI-powered FWD conversion.
