Had a busy weekend with the weather and temps. Finally painted the nose and then cleared it on Monday. I am really pleased with the results. Now on to more sanding!
I really feel good about this build. Paint was the only thing I did not do on my roadster. Although I plan to keep the coupe, and it is by no means a trailer queen or show car, I think it will be a good representation of the original intent, and that is to build a replica of a race car.

thanks guys! Garry, I can't wait to see it finished either. I took delivery of the kit eight years ago next month! In 2005, I took my roadster to the FF Nationals at VIR. Back in the day, the grand prize at the Saturday night BBQ was a kit of your choice. I won, and picked the coupe. I think that was the last year they did that.

That's a great story Rob! Congrats on that win, Hot Rod next? LOL
Nose looks great, keep posting pics as you move to the finish line.

Thanks John,
I would love to build a Hot Rod. I also want another roadster, FE powered, under car exhaust, no roll bar, bumpers, full on street look.
I've also been toying with another MGB with a 302 conversion.

Hey Rob let's not get greedy here. Haven't you heard the adage "one to a customer". You can't drive them all at the same time. LOL

Looks great, Rob. Give me a call if you ever need an extra hand getting things back together; I'm usually around somewhere and would like to see the rest of your work, too.

How did they paint the round white circle for the number is there a stencil?

I laid down the white center first. I then taped the stripes off at 7.5". I cut a 21" mask and positioned that on the nose. I added a 1/4" tape at the top and bottom to separate the meatball from the stripe, then shot the blue. The paint I bought was an inexpensive line, Sherwin Williams Dimension. The shop mixed it and gave me a quart of white, and a gallon of blue in a ready to spray can. Only had to mix the clear. I chose this because it had a 7 day re-coat window, and I wanted to give myself enough time to take my time prior to shooting the clear.
