I put the oil in my 351W today for the first time so I could prime the motor to double check to make sure I am getting oil up to the rockers. I used a priming rod hooked up to my drill. My question is: should the primer turn very easily and fast or does it have some resistance to it? When I first started, it was pretty easy but about 10 seconds into it, the drill had a decent amount of drag. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks

Evan

It'll turn fast til the oil pump primes. Then it will drag hard. Real hard.

Run it a couple of minutes. Better safe than sorry.

The resistance is the indication it's working. You're golden.

And make sure you are turning it counter clockwise. I spun mine for a while before I figured that one out...lol
