I'm new to the Forum I very much want to build a 33. Can anyone give me an estimate on the real cost of building one? I dont want anything over the top juckyard 5.3 LS engine and trans I'm sure I would go for some of the options from FF5 but I dont want anything I dont really need. I need a top and AC. and nice interior.

Does FF5 really give you all the interior? Is there really nothing else to find or source out? It comes with steering column also???

What do I need to worry about?

I'm a Master Tech with many years experience I dont think it will be a problem to build the car other than the funds and maybe the interior but doesnt look like there is much to that.

Help please so i can to can be a happy owner.

The best way to determine exactly what is included in the kit, order the manual online for $10. It will give you all the details. The F5R website also lists what you need to add. The complete steering is included. If you stick with a basic build, the kit supplies virtually everything, the complete interior, including carpet, even for the trunk. The challenge is to keep from buying upgrades. You can read the recent post about recommended upgrades.

As someone who just finished a 33 I can tell you it is hard to keep the costs down. A mustang donor cheap and the kit plus wheels, tires fuel pump and batt can be done for less. Paint can add a ton to the price. Mine would cost over 40K to duplicate due to options and upgrades I did.

I am building one right now. Costs can get out of control quick. This one will be over $80,000.00 including my labor. That is with an all new Coyote drivetrain, every FFR option and many upgrades. I am quickly finding that body work and paint is very EXPENSIVE on these cars. Best quote I could get was starting at $11,000.00

A lot depends on the items needed to complete the kit. With the cost of the kit, I have budgeted an extra $15,000 to complete less paint. As the build has progressed, I have upgraded a lot of items so the original $15,000 is being pushed up.
