818R Wins Best Domestic Award from Gran Turismo

The new Factory Five 818R has won Sony’s 2013 Gran Turismo Award for “Best Domestic Automobile”! The award was presented during The GT Awards reception Wednesday night at Haze Night Club in the Aria Hotel & Casino. Each year at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the Gran Turismo Awards are held to honor some of the best custom vehicles on display – one of which gets immortalized in a Gran Turismo game. The 818R was a finalist, but didn't make the game just yet...

This is the third time a Factory Five has won this award, with a GTM and ’33 Hot Rod as the other two to receive it. We’re thrilled to see the 818 continue to be well received by both our customers and the media.

But I really don't know how I feel about that... now all the kiddies will get to drive it (albeit, virtually) without having earned it by building it.

OK, how about a game where you build the car in the game, then race it against others that did the same. The better job you did building & prepping it, the better/faster it goes. A virtual Challenge Series.

And to get money for a better build you have to rob banks, sell drugs without being killed and that kind of stuff too? lolll

Seriously, maybe we could ask Sony to build a Kit Car game. :)

No no, Frank has a good idea. We can call it Grand Theft Turismo!!

You can rob banks to enhance your build, upgrade parts, and do some mad customizations.

Then, you build your car, and run over people to upgrade your tires, do engine mods, etc. Could be a new niche market for Sony.

Way to go Frank! You came up with a new video game concept!!
