Will the same starter work on a 157 tooth as well as a 164 tooth flywheel? Is it just the tooth or is it diameter? I'm just trying to avoid a mismatch.

164 tooth flywheels are automatics or 11" truck. You really want to stay with a 157 tooth flywheel.
