Revealing Photos of GTM #327 !

It’s finally time for some revealing pictures of GTM #327. I started it just over three years ago, and with plenty of help from my friends am now very close to finished. I thought I would post a series of pictures that give a good view of the car. This first set focuses on the exterior, and really is a tribute to Ron (Presto51). For the last three years he’s been at my house nearly every weekend, at first helping with the mechanical, and then teaching me about bodywork and finishing. It’s through his guidance and skills that this car looks as great as it does. Ron painted it in my garage in a makeshift spray booth, and yet the finish is like glass. He’s certainly been more help than I could have ever have asked for, so here’s to you Ron. Time for that cold one!

And not to leave anyone else out, this car is where it is today thanks to parts and discussions and knowledge from Vidal (VD2021), Crash (Mike), MikesPMS (Mike), LSMAN (Ted), VRaptor (Shane), Thomas142 (Tom), and a host of others. To each of, thanks for your time. Much appreciated!

GTM #327 is running a crate LS3 with a G50-20 transmission. I have Crash’s heater kit, Ted’s suspension components and rear shock mount, MikesPMS front lift system and sway bar kit, Kooks exhaust, a ton of Shane’s parts, aluminum gas tanks, and many of Thomas142’s parts.

And here’s a few shots of Ron and me with the car. He’s the tall one. And the one responsible for making it look good.

I’ve also attached some renderings that I based my paint job on. They were done by Murray Pfaff. Murray came up with about 20 different designs for me, and we narrowed it down to the one you see here. Then he went out and found the actual paint codes and sparyed out a 2’ long speed shape for me so I could see the colors before I committed to spraying them. Big thanks to Murray as well!

This post focuses on some of Thomas142’s parts that were included in my build. I’ve used his rear wing with integrated third brake light, his carbon fiber side window scoops, his full side scoops, and his front radiator exhaust scoop in the nose. I also have an interior overhead console of his, but that will be in another post.

In this post I’m showing some other car details – the FFR roof scoop, Ron’s beautifully even gaps, the interior of the nose, and a custom hatch handle that allows the hatch to be opened and closed quite easily.

Here are some shots of the interior. Basic FFR with a couple custom aluminum plates and a custom gauge.

Race Logic traction control is just to the right of the steering column. Fog light switch just to the left. Switches for MikesPMS front end lift are to the right of the column, tucked below the big bend in the dash piece. Switches for my rear engine bay fans, radiator fans overide, and DRLs are on the left side, again tucked just below the big bend in the dash piece.

The switch above the stereo turns the front or rear camera on and displays video at any time (also displays rear when in reverse).

In one of the shots you can also see Thomas142's overhead console. I have two lights in there operated by an overhead switch and also by door jamb switches. And a cubby to store my shades.

And lastly, some shots of the engine bay. As you can see I have a carbon fiber engine cover by Mike DeGuire with some custom nameplates, and most of the bay is lined with a reflective mat.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

My salvage inspection is scheduled for November 12, so hopefully by the 15th I'll have it fully registered. Just mounted my rearview mirror and wiper blade. A few more odds and ends (like the carbon fiber rocker extensions) and she'll be ready for the roads!
