If you remember the SSC Ultimate Aero that had the world's only 1 piece solid carbon fiber wheel then you will recognize these. The company that makes them is Carbon Revolution. They have finally been able to bring these to the market. I would love to have a set I just cant drop that kind of money on some wheels (15K)! The rear wheel 19X12 only weighs 18.6 lbs!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy light!
I would really like to see a GTM with a set of these one day...

More than the weight the stiffness of those wheels will be dramatically higher that a good forged aluminum wheel. For a well set up suspension that will pay off big time by controlling the alignment of the contact patch much better through less distortion of the wheel. I would say that their quoted decrease in lap times with the CF wheels was due to exactly that fact and not the reduced weight.

Jim at Halltech has done some crazy stuff with his Z06. and it seems he hasn't stopped.
2-3 years ago, he did a "Biggest Loser" kinda thing with his car, Built a ~640 HP LS7 designed for E85, and then dropped the weight on his vette to under 2,800LBS. and back then he was using OZ Ultraleggera rims, Looks like he is still dropping weight where he can.
