I have a significant amount of play in the shaft of my tilt column. Th wheel will shake side to side about 1/32 of an inch, which is actually a lot. It is not the wheel moving on the column, it feels like the column is loose inside the bearing. I have checked that the cone shaped wedge looks like it is being forced into the bushing by the spring, which is compressed by the snap ring. Before I check with Ididit or start dismantling the assembly..... Does anyone else have this issue?
BTW, installed the power steering last week, easy fit with the Coyote, the car is so much nicer to manuever in parking lots etc. At highway speeds the steering is light without the assist, so I did not find that the assist made it much lighter at speed, installed a switch to turn it off when I want the feedback from the Armstrong steering.
