Does anyone have experience with the FFR Aluminator XS crate engine? I plan to install it in my '33 and i ordered the coyote install kit thinking it would apply to this engine since it is in the modular family. I am wondering if I did the right thing. Has anyone installed the XS? Any words of wisdom?
My Dad and I were looking at that one too. From what we could tell, its the new 5.0 Mustang engine, but massaged. Like the previous BOSS motor, it has the same external dimensions, but has better electronics, cams, etc to make it reach a little higher - exactly what you would do to your 'regular' coyote motor if you wanted to hot rod it. Should fit fine and make your tires beg for mercy.

One more thoght. This engine has a 12 qt oil pan. Does anyone know if there are any clearance issues with this BIG pan?

12qts! Yikes! I would think you should be ok, but if you plan on running the electric power steering that might not fit very well.

Thanks Arrowhead. I was not planning on electric power steering, at least at the first rev of my build. I am counting on the light weight of the car to make it driveable. Any additional thoughts on this topic wold be helpful.

As an FYI I got lots of good advice on the PS issue on the supension and steering forum that NOT installing PS is NOT a good idea. I appreciate all of the great advice.
