I had made a plate to cover the hole in the front aluminum when I don't use the front tow hook but I like the look with the hook in place...

I also ordered the rear window rubber trim that Bill recommended...I think it will be perfect for the glass. Thanks for the tip Bill.

Bill,

Looks like a custom exhaust system with larger diameter mufflers. Very well done on the whole car ... it's a beauty.

Gary - they are larger in diameter and a bit longer I think. The inside diameter has been increased and seems to have much better flow. I forget what brand they are but easily obtainable. I fabricated the whole system except for the connector pipes between the headers and the mufflers. There are two brackets underneath and a SS bolt through the lower sill as they are a bit heavier than the originals. The sound is much more tolerable. I liked the original sound but the wife kept wrinkling her nose everytime I started it, therefore a new system was decided upon!!. LOL I'ld like her to accompany me on daytrips so didn't mind quieting things down a bit. Can't wait to finish all the small details and get on the road.

Congratulations on a job well done. There is just something special about a blue coupe.

Anyone notice the blinkers in the front grille opening?

Wow-- that's the kind of craftsmanship that has onlookers coming back for more, if they know their stuff, right down to the double-nutting on the fire bottle mounts!

Is there a lid to the tunnel console thing? Is the dashtop usually removeable, or did you make it that way yourself?

More detail shots, please!

The tray alonside the driver's seat has no lid, it is carpeted on the inside and is just for odds and ends, change, turnpike toll receiver, sunglasses etc. The dashtop was made removeable so things could be serviced if required. Made out of a new piece of aluminum 1/4" wider than the edge of the dash with a foam backer and upholstered in black Mercedes Benz vinyl. Secures to the cross bar with 4 SS screws and finish washers like the ones in the rear. I'll try to get some detail shots up to John to post for me. Try as I might I'm not able to figure out how to put photos into the Forum.
