Expect my complete kit in a bout 3 weeks (seems like 3 years!) Anything I should be getting that is a "must have" other than basic tools? Clecos comes to mind. How many, what size. #30 drill bits. Any other thoughts? Does anyone have a checklist?

Thanks in advance. I have learned a lot already browsing through posts.

Hi Stevem,

If you don't have the build manual, FFR can get you a soft and/or hard copy. It lists most of the basic tools and supplies. As far as 1/8" Clecos you need at least 25 but 50 is better and maybe 10 or so of the 3/16". The 1/8" pop rivets are designed for a 1/8" drill bit but a lot of builders use the #30 bits. I'm using the 1/8" and 3/16" bits with no problems. Harbor Freight has an air riveter for about $40 that's very useful. You might think about building a body buck and a frame dolly while you are waiting. Dimensions for the body buck are in the manual and you can search the forum and the ffcars for frame dollies. If you are tight on space, there are some over and under body buck designs that will get the body high enough to park the go cart frame underneath. There are a lot of nice designs out there. Make sure you have a 36mm socket for the front axle nuts. The hardware is a mixture of metric and SAE so you need tools for both.

A large table, the manual says 4'X8', is handy as well as a good vise. I'm sure others can add much more to this.

Getting pretty far along on my 33 but one thing for sure, I have used my air tools more than ever on this project. That includes drills, grinders, saws, sanders, etc. And clecos are a must. Have fun !!
