If you like the coupe that much, you are going to be kicking yourself for getting a roadster later. Save a little longer and stay the course my friend!
If that's you in the picture you have some time though! LOL

Build the coupe now, while your helpers are small enough to stuff under the rear glass!! ;-o)

I didn't know about the increase either. But, you can't let a grand stand in the way of building the Coupe. Just tell one of the kids they won't be going to college, and they can pick out the community college of their choice. ;-o) ha

Sorry, just having a little fun!

I hope you get your build going soon!

Regards,

Steve

The price went up either late last year or the begining of this year, whenever the last fall/winter sale ended. I know its a bummer, but they are having a 50/50 sale on right now. I orignally was going to buy one two years ago, and then the whole 818 thing came out and I ended up waiting to see how that turned out. I missed 4 or 5 sales so far by waiting, plus the exchange rate for the Canadian dollar has dropped. I will more than likely be putting a deposit down on one at SEMA. It wiil cost me an extra $2000 - $2500 compared to two years ago, but it is still worth it for me. I think FFR held the price down as long as they could, they did do a bunch of updates such as new molds and glass rear hatch with out increasing the price - until now.

Thanks John

Ten years ago the price was much cheaper, but could we get tubular A-arms, custom spindles, inexpensive stroker cranks, aluminum heads, six speed transmissions, or rear glass? Not so much.

Time goes on, the price has to inflate as the economy does, but there is more on the market to choose from, too. Now we can choose from Coyote, mod motor, small block 351 strokers, FE, or the 5.0, not forgetting some use the LS.

Add in the some of the modifications, using the Lincoln donor fan, hinged foot box mod, using front PBR's all around, etc. A coupe built three years from now with a modest budget will likely have 150 more hp, another gear, and well balanced brakes, making it a second quicker and definitely a much better handler.

In that regard, you get what you pay for. Is the kit more, sure. Real glass in the back, worth it to me, I can scrape the frost off in late November. Correct spindles with the proper SAI, and working control arms, means no real need for power steering. It was minimum standards for the build plans for many, and now we aren't tempted to cost cut where it shouldn't be done. The money spent on those items makes it a better car overall, and not spending money on bling items means it won't look dated and out of style when I have to sell it from old age. It's all good.

Not to bad, I talked to Jim Shneck a little and he gave me some ideas to keep the interior cooler which was one of my concerns. I am going to try and see if I can raise the xtra 1k. I know 3k differnace is not much to some but my budget is like really stretched. For know my goal is to get the coupe
