"This is a ferociously quick machine,"
"I'd estimate 0 to 60 mph is in the mid- to low-four-second range and it feels even quicker thanks to the lack of sensory filters."
A very good 1-page article on the 818S. Kudos to FFR PR.

With a stock 06 motor and trans. Just imagine with a little more power what it could do.

At some point in the near future... I won't need to imagine!

I'm actually surprised it didn't test faster out of the blocks. Launched hard, a bone-stock STi is a mid-4-second car.

Exactly. I'm betting that the car in question will not be significantly slower than the prototype 818R, which has been clocked 0-60 in 3.8 seconds.

Every word in this article is positive, which is hard to get in car mags. I think the only error is the last sentence: "Now all those customers have to do is build it." Ezra Dyer should have written, "Now all those customers get to build it."
Ezra, building your own car is part of the fun!

One other cool quote you guys will like: ". . . the bang for the buck is hard to beat: a Porsche 911 Turbo power-to-weight ratio for the price of a well-used Boxter." Get the November issue.

Hey Pete,

Thanks for the heads up! I had the magazine as a friend brought the Nov issue so I could read the "McLearen across America" article. Little did I know it had FFR stuff in there. I don't think I would have found it. I usually just scan thru the magazine. It was short but sweet! I think the author was pretty impressed. If he had test driven the R version, he would have been changing his undees!!! Thanks again, WEK.
