So my pickup date is coming up soon on Nov 2nd and I still haven't decided on my seats, my final payment is coming up in the next week or so and I need to decide since I am picking up my 818..

I've had Sparco EVO's in a previous car and really loved them - I did have a floor slider to adjust the front to back distance though so I think that helped a lot.

My thoughts are without a roof, I want to avoid any upholstered seats. Prefer to have something like the aluminum constructions of the Kirkey, or fiberglass/carbon fiber like the Sparco's where you can pull off the padding and wash it if needed.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Kirkey Alunimum seats? How are they for long distance driving? How is the padding, etc?

What have all of you guys decided on for your seats?

I have used a lot of kirkey seats in racing. they are very supportive and comfortable for racing, I don't think without the adrenalin that I would want to sit in one for a couple of hours. That said you can have custom foam and inserts made for $$

So it's just very thin material between the aluminum and my butt? :(

The sparco's had TONS of padding in my opinion. I took those on many long road trips (MD to NY, MD to SC, etc) and I always felt better getting out of the car after driving with those vs regular seats in my BMW.

I guess you get what you pay for. Was hoping to not spent 700-800 a seat for the Sparco's..

I have Bimarco Futura's with a fiberglass shell, FIA homologated. Check my thread for details. There isn't much room for a silder to be effective with most of these seats.

unless you go for the thinner tank for taller drivers there is only 21 inches of space so sliders are not really an option

Sliders arent really a concern for me. I'm shorter (5'10 or so) and my brother is the same height roughly, we're the only ones likely to be driving the car on a regular basis.

I just wanted to make sure it was comfortable to actuate the clutch, without having to fully extend my leg if possible.

Hopefully they have the 818S at the shop when I pickup mine so I can sit in it.
