Got delivery late last and stayed up to the wee hours doing inventory and getting familiar with it. Today got the front suspension and brakes installed with no major issues. Switched to the other end and have got the rear brakes on but it just does not seem right. (Wilwood) The only way I can get it to work without interference is the caliper on the forward end bottom side. This puts the vent ports pointing down? I have never seen brakes installed in that position? Is this the correct configuration? The only other way is backside bottom and there is interference that way so no go. It just feels wrong so asking for opinion and how others have them installed. Is this correct?

This video from Factory Five does a good job of showing where the rear Wilwood calipers go.

Yeah that's the first place I looked they installed them in the same location but just didn't feel right with the brake bleed ports at the bottom was just trying to confirm. Thanks for the reply

I've always been schooled that the bleeders have to be on top.

Bleeders need to be on top else air won't get out. Swap them side to side should put Bleeders on top.

Disclaimer I don't have wildwoods, I don't know if they are side specific or swappable side to side, but above is how I determine which goes on which side when both off the car. Bleeder up should make it right.

I have the FFR supplied Wilwoods on my Mk4 build. Installed them a while ago, so had to refresh my memory a bit. They are installed as per instructed and in the FFR video I linked earlier. I remember at the time thinking it was odd the bleeders were pointing down. But in the installed position, and with the location of the inlet hose and e-brake cable, there is no way for them to be any different. The typical process of switching sides doesn't work in this case. I'm not far enough in my build yet, so I haven't bled the system. What I recall reading is that for these rear calipers, you need to take them off and point the bleeders up to bleed. Kind of a pain, but not something that should need to be done very often. I searched on Wilwood's site and a bunch of forums trying to confirm, but can't find where I read that. If someone has better information, I'd be very interested as well.

Thanks all and Ed it never occurred to me to pull the caliper to bleed the system. I can put that nagging thought away now:) I kept going anyway and am ready to install the rear today.

That is correct. Unbolt them and relocate for bleeding. Then put them back. Strange but true.
