Ladies and gentlemen,

The cocktail hour will be at the same location as last year at the same time. That is

The Riviera Hotel Lounge (Next to the R Steakhouse").
Nov 6th, 2013
6PM-8PM
Comped Beer and House Wine till our FFR tab runs out then you're on your own!

So, when you leave the convention center, cut across the parking lot and head over to the Riviera Convention Entrance, (not the Las Vegas Blvd Entrance) and look for the FFR signs. We'll have the patio at the steakhouse for cocktails and rubbing elbows with each other. You'll be given a wristband for the cocktail hour when you sign in.

Ladies and gentlemen,

This year I'm considering forgoing the dinner but keeping the cocktail hour. FFR has been kind enough to put up the money for the cocktail hour which is great but the steak house is raising their prices to $60/person which is $10 more than last year. It's all inclusive though. Still I didn't get a lot of feedback from last year so unless anyone wants to do a different dinner and plan it, I'll just stick with the cocktail hour.

Erik
It would be rude not to take Dave up on the generous offer, tell us more about the date, place, food etc.
I assume since it's a steak house we can stay and have dinner on our own dime after the cocktails?

I am good for anything as well.

Suggestion, if not rude to suggest, could we make it a different location... like say Winn. Their buffet is the best on the strip and not bad priced. Cocktails before then grazing after.

Wednesday the 6th is the date. At this point I haven't decided the location but I'm familiar with the alcohol prices at the Winn and $500 won't get us far. The Riv was good and cheap and close. Looking for something similar.

Makes no sense to deal with the "after SEMA" traffic trying to go somewhere else when you can just walk across the parking lot from the show and have it at the Riviera.

I usually expect about 30-40 so we'll see what happens this year. We'll have a keg and I can only drink about 30 beers so I'll need some help with the other 150. ;)

Eric,

Are we having Labatt, Old Wilwaukee, Coors Light, Bud, Michelob or Busch?

Yummy!

;)

EDIT: PS Pabst Blue Ribbon or Keystone, even better!! :D

ehansen007

Well, that's a good question my fine furry friend. We can get a keg of PBR like last year (it was smooth going down but hot coming out!) for $200 or Coors Light for $300. so we'll have $300 or $200 left over for house wine or other beers. What do you guys want?

Dude. I was kidding. I'm a Beer Snob. How much for Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada?

Any other outings or get together's being organized by fellow FFR builders during SEMA?

I'll be there with the group from South Orange County. I usually go for craft beers but for something like this I'm good with PBR and use the extra moeny for wine and ther things. No Bud products for me I usually end up with a headache. Probably from too much in college.

Thanks for arranging this Erik......I serve on a SEMA Council, and they have a function which I'm required to attend at the same time on Wednesday evening...Will stop by the bar early and check in to see if any of the hard core folks are still there afterward.....:) Looking forward to seeing everyone at SEMA!! We're not going IPA is that's what you're thinking  to put it lightly I WILL inadvertently establish a 10 foot perimeter around me if I drink that stuff. However there will be money left over to buy some premiums. Besides, it's like wine, after the first few, who cares what it tastes like!

I am going to try and attend if my work obligations don't interfere. I just started a new job as the Tech Relations Manager with Power Stop LLC… like in brakes, and will have a busy week between AWDA meetings, AAPEX booth 2234 and SEMA booth 24029.

I would love to connect some faces with the names and do some bench racing.

Thanks for setting this up.

I wanted to say thanks to Erik for putting this together, the location was a great choice.
Thanks to our webmaster David H for once again taking the time to ask for feedback about the site
and making us feel like we all are part of the community.
And a thanks to Dave Smith for picking up the tab and for dropping by even though he had other
business to attend to that evening. That my friends is a hat trick
