Does anybody know if a 17x8 +35mm wheel with a 215/40 17 tire will fit up front or if it will poke out too far? This would only be about 0.2" further outboard than the F5 recommended setup.

205, 215, 225, 235 wide?

Assuming it's possible, it's better to get a higher offset (i.e. +40, +48) if in doubt because clearances can be adjusted with spacers. You don't have that option with a lower offset.

I have a wheel in that size and offset and am waiting for the body to come back from the painter to test fit. I put them on the GRM car and they looked like they fit.

FFR told me yesterday 17x8 at 35-40 was recommended, so you should be good at 35, but I'm waiting to hear Wayne's report! Early builders were wise to go higher offset with so many unknowns, adjustability is good. Early builders will have fun before us, but will also help those of us who had to wait with a ton of information and confirmation. Our impatience will pay off by not having to guess! :)
There are a few raijin and forgestar look alikes in 35 offset. Hmm. This wheel choice has been my hardest decision.

These are available in 35 offset (8" width) as close to Raijins or Forgestars I can find in 17s
