I posted this request on the other forum, so I apologize for the duplication. I would like to request from some of the engine builders/vendors to give us a brief tutorial on the effect of the Line/Align Boring process. I've seen some of the discussion presented about the crank being moved up in the block, that would change the center line. This would then present timing chain issues along with pan fitment and seals. Also the transmission alignment comes into play as well. I would assume that this process would automatically require the use of altered main bearings to compensate for the upward movement of the centerline and bring everything back to the stock centerline.
Is this not the case?
Thank you!

Line boring a block would not cause the center line to move upward as equal material is removed from all sides. After the process get the correct bearings and everything should be good to go.
