I was trying to install my windshield surround today so I could figure out the best location for the brake proportioning valve. I ran into a problem. The surround hits the brake reservoir way before its in its final resting spot. Anyone else run into this? Is there a simple fix or am I doing something wrong? Also how the heck do you fill these reservoirs after the surround and glass is installed?

Here are a couple pictures from Erik build thread.
I think the dash will pull back very easy. So maybe that will be the access.

Didn't one of the assembly manual updates have info on this? I don't have mine handy now.

On the GRM, we cut the surround just over an inch to clear the reservoir on the horizontal surface and about a 8x3 on the vertical surface.

This sounds like FFR should do a fix for later chassis, no?

There's nothing to fix about it, it is not an exposed part on the car, it is not part of the sealed area and if the manual said "trim around the master cylinder" it would not have ever been brought up.

I'm sure that was just a quick cut to get it to fit. I'm sure sanded down and beveling the corners it will look perfect.

Going to make some sort of access panel for mine... perhaps clear plastic?

I'm looking forward to Mike Everson's solution. He's been very innovative solving some Roadster problems.
