Normally when I buy stuff online I use a mastercard that's limited to 2500, just incase it gets stolen or I have some unknown viri I've missed lurking on my computer waiting to capture the number. (for larger online purchases I call them to have the limit temporarily removed)
I have never in the last 5yrs used my vsa online (which has a much higher limit) - so today I open my statement and find somebody's bought almost 29,000 worth of jetskis online on my card, 3,000 at some place that sells legos, and almost 10,000 worth of plumbing supplies from an online plumbing store.....lol???
The fraud department wasn't able to explain to me how their highly technical models that determine whether or not your card has been stolen (based on usage, spending patterns, history, etc....) wasn't able to pick up on this. :rolleyes:
Most of the charges were over a week and a half old ...... I wonder if the guy paid for overnight delivery of his legos to make sure he got them, lol???
