Hey there everyone,

Erik Johnson here at The Race Line. I usually keep pretty much to the GTM room, but I was wondering how many builders here use the Ford 9" rear end in your build?

I have a fantastic Limited Slip Differential for these and thought that it might be of interest to people here.

I look forward to seeing the response.

Hi Eric,

The 9" is very rare. Almost all FFR Roadsters use the 8.8. Now if you can roust up some Tru-Traks or Torsen then you would have a much larger audience!

I think what you're going to have to do is offer a better mouse trap at an appealing price Erik. The diff, is just part of the equation. Now if you offered an complete rear end assembly with all of the necessary brackets you may have something. But it sounds like you are just referring to the pumpkin itself? The 8.8 works great in these cars because they can take allot of abuse in a car that weighs 2500lbs.

Why use a 9"? Just added weight for no reason. I've been road racing for 8 years with a 8.8 IRS & Torsen diff and 500 hp with no problems. Currently working on another (IRS also) with over 650 hp. Now maybe if your drag racing with more than 800 hp that may be a different story by how may guys do that?

But....Thanks for the inquiry. We are always looking for something new for these cars. I wish you well in your "Race Line".
